What even are Medicaid and Medicare? And why should you care?

If you're running a private pay practice, you've probably been told to stay far away from insurance. And honestly? That advice made sense for a while.

But here's what's changing.

Medicaid

Government-funded coverage for low-income individuals and families. In mental health, it's one of the largest and most consistent payers in the country — and in many states, reimbursement rates have improved significantly in recent years.

Medicare

Federal coverage for adults 65+ and people with certain disabilities. With the mental health needs of older adults largely underserved, it's a growing and largely untapped market for therapists and group practices.

Together, they represent millions of people who need mental health care and have coverage to pay for it — coverage that, when billed correctly, can generate reliable, recurring revenue for your practice.

The problem isn't the programs themselves. The problem is that most clinicians were never taught how to use them strategically.

So why don't more practices go this route?

A few concerns come up over and over. Maybe you've thought some of these yourself:

  • "The reimbursement rates aren't worth it"
  • "The billing is too complicated"
  • "I'll spend more time on admin than on clients"
  • "It's not profitable at my current volume"
Some of these concerns are valid — if you don't have the right systems in place. But they're not the full picture, and they're absolutely not permanent. With the right operational model, Medicaid and Medicare can be a stable, scalable foundation for a practice that serves high-need clients and takes care of you financially.

Real systems. Real numbers. No theory.

I'm breaking down what it actually takes to build a profitable, sustainable practice using Medicaid and/or Medicare — from the basics to the advanced operational systems that make them worth it.

01

Medicaid & Medicare 101 — how each program works, who qualifies, and what it means for your practice revenue

02

Evaluate your model — whether Medicaid, Medicare, or both make sense for your specific practice

03

Optimize your billing — stop chasing payments and fix avoidable denials before they happen

04

High-volume workflows — what sustainable systems look like when they're built to support you, not exhaust you

05

Financial modeling shifts — stabilize cash flow and grow your margins with the right structure

06

Common revenue mistakes — the ones that quietly drain your practice, and exactly how to fix them

A practical tool, on me.

Everyone who attends live will receive a copy of my Denial Tracking Log — a simple, done-for-you spreadsheet I use to help practices track claim denials, follow up on appeals, and spot patterns in where revenue is getting lost.

It's not a gimmick. It's something I genuinely wish more practices had set up from the start. If you're already dealing with denials and feeling like you're chasing your tail, this will help.

This is only available to those who attend live — it won't be sent with the recording.

I've helped solo clinicians and large group agencies build profitable, sustainable practices on Medicaid and Medicare models. My group practice of 15 therapists was almost entirely Medicare and Medicaid-based — and I did all the billing. I bring real-world numbers and tested systems — not theory — to every training I lead.

This training is for you if…

  • You're curious about Medicaid or Medicare but don't know where to start
  • You're building a new practice and figuring out your billing model
  • You already accept insurance but growth feels harder than it should
  • You're tired of unpredictable cash flow and complicated billing
  • You want to serve more underserved clients without sacrificing your financial stability
  • You're ready to stop guessing and start building something that actually works

There is a smarter way to build this practice.

This training is completely free. Attend live or get the recording — either way, you're in.
